The hours per week are flexible and will be discussed in the initial interview, as are start/end dates

ChemTalk is offering a unique internship opportunity to come in on the ground floor of an exciting new science education non-profit.

You will be working closely with a multi-national team of 5-6 like minded people, helping to shape the direction and success of the organization.

You will choose one of these three areas to focus in, or a combination of these 3:

  • Article writing, content, educational media. These will revolve around chemistry related topics including the elements, experiments, history of chemistry, modern day researchers & teachers, and chemistry tutorials
  • Social media, marketing and PR. Starting with YouTube, Facebook, Instagram but also including partnerships and collaborations that will bring us more visibility and improving the website (no coding knowledge needed)
  • Networking, outreach and business development. You will lead outreach to classrooms, teachers, professors, and scientists around the world to have them work with ChemTalk in various capacities, including as contributors, interviewees, supporters, stakeholders and incubators / testbeds for our programs and content.
  • Video tutorials. You will create video tutorials on various chemistry topics that will supplement articles.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and for making a difference, will excel working in a team, and will believe that a focused group of people can accomplish anything they put their mind to.

ChemTalk's grassroots mission is not only change the perception of chemistry but to make it fun and easy to learn, using online content and multi-media resources to empower students, teachers, and family science pods to learn and discover why it is so amazing.

In this internship, you will have unparalleled opportunity to see what it takes to build an organization, and network with scientists, researchers, teachers, and students around the world - not to mention to learn new subjects and material, no matter how strong your science background already is. You will learn how effective a small, cohesive team can be.

This is a flexible, remote position. If you apply for school credit we will fully support that process. We can't wait to hear from you.

Candidates will be sent a short survey to fill asking about their science background, interests and timelines, and then be scheduled for an interview over zoom.
