General Position Purpose Statement
For twenty-five years, the National Domestic Violence Hotline has answered the call – over 5 million calls, chats, and texts to date – of those affected by relationship abuse. As the only 24/7/365 national service provider offering services via call, chat, and text, we work to shine a light on domestic violence by supporting and advocating for survivors, providing hope in times of crisis, and promoting healthy relationships for all.
From our crisis and intervention hotline, to our unprecedented data on the state of domestic violence, to prevention programs like love is respect, The Hotline works at every level to ensure a future when all relationships as positive, healthy, and free from violence.
The Communications Internship is a great opportunity for an individual hoping to pursue a career in communications, public relations, non-profit management, and/or public affairs. Interns would work closely with a team of experienced communications professionals and learn the skills needed to excel in the non-profit sector.

SALARY: Interns will be compensated with a small stipend (dependent on the number of hours worked) equivalent to $15/hour. Interns may also receive academic credit through an approved program, if granted by the college or university.
HOURS: The Communications Intern is required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week. The internship will run for three months, and the schedule can be negotiated based on the Intern’s availability.
Priority will be given to Texas-based candidates. Should the candidate be based outside of Texas, they will be expected to work in Central Time.
