The tuition-free Community Engagement Fellowship at Merrimack College leads to a Master of Education in Community Engagement (M.Ed.) in one year. The program prepares students to be non-profit leaders, social change activists, and leaders in the national service learning movement. It links graduate study with a nine-month residency in a partner school, college, or community-based organization. Fellows attain unparalleled hands-on experience at a fellowship site while attending classes at night. The program's core focuses on social justice and citizen involvement, emphasizing service learning and community development. Students in the program are passionate about addressing pressing social issues and needs through community organizing and community partnerships. This program provides professional preparation for careers in areas such as fundraising, community relations, volunteer management, diversity training, and leadership in schools, colleges, and community organizations.
