Details

The placement focuses on children in poverty, children and youth with disabilities, orphaned children, unemployed youth, women in poverty, people with HIV, people recovering from trauma, addiction recovery, the elderly, the art sector, education, etc. Clinical placements are also available.

For us, community psychology means skills and tools to empower us to reach and work with the local community in different programs and tasks.

We use our social media pages for advocacy work, and our Facebook pages have more than 50K followers.

Academic-level team leaders are daily supervising your internship. In addition, we monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to secure you proceed well in your study program.

The internship outcome is to learn to use and get experience implementing your education in developing country conditions with limited capacitation. Also, to better understand the opportunities in a fast-growing economy.

Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can be from 2 weeks up to 12 months.

The program is ongoing, and you can adjust your start dates. We accept applications from all students and alumni. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.

You can also conduct thesis and related tasks. The typical daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility.

We provide 2x the local minimum wage of USD 100 per month for paid internships payable when you stay a minimum of 4 weeks.

The start and end dates are flexible and accommodate other travel arrangements in Tanzania.

International flights, student permits, accommodation, and meals are personal costs.

You and your visiting friends can enjoy sustainable tourism, safaris, and local tour options at a low cost.

We need your tentative arrival and departure dates to book you in and open your account.

BASICS:

- You receive USD 100 per month, about 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage. So not much but some money here to spend as the cost structure is low.

- All International flights are a personal cost

- You do not need much money here for living costs. For example, if you attend a safari, Mt Kilimanjaro climbs, etc., budget from USD 500 to USD 1600 depending on various student options.

- Safety; Tanzania is probably safer than your home place.

- Vaccinations: check the validity of shots such as tetanus, hepatitis, etc. that you keep valid in any case

- Malaria: You can use preventives, but it is routine to medicate here if you get malaria.

- Medical services: Many clinics and hospitals with easy access, and medication standard is good and cost nominal.

- Please take a standard travel insurance

- Working hours are 6-8 hours per day from Monday to Friday and can be adjusted

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

• Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is a personal expense.

• Airport transfers from and to is USD 120 is a personal expense

• Charity VISA for immigration USD 50 is a personal expense. 3-6 months charity VISA is USD 250 and 12 months one USD 500.

• We pay a USD 100 per month stipend to you. It is small but 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage. The minimum participation time is four weeks for the grant.

• Flights are a personal expense.
