Know The System is a nonpartisan initiative that will employ e-learning technology to educate ordinary citizens about national issues.
The main work for this internship is to review relevant literature, collect statistics, and write summaries that will contribute to the mission. The information thus distilled will go into white papers, marketing materials, and published content. Assistance is also desired in scanning for important new articles and developments, and drafting content for social media.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a bachelors or masters degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, or related; or is currently working on a degree in such a field. A degree in Communications or Journalism could also be considered if applicant is familiar with research related to public communications or political rhetoric.
Intern will gain a great deal of insight on the current problems of political polarization in the United States, and about potential remedies.
For applicants currently in school looking for academic credit, Know The System could support such an effort depending on requirement particulars.
Candidates should be in the Durham/Triangle area, but much of the work can be done remotely.
