The Technology Implementation Intern will be primarily responsible for working with Share Our Strength’s Information Technology team to deliver new capabilities to the workforce. Some of the projects we have underway are intended to streamline existing processes. Other projects offer completely new ways of doing business. In all cases, the Technology Implementation Intern will assist in the entire lifecycle of project management, from planning to technical implementation to rolling out to the workforce.

Through these projects, the Technology Implementation Intern will gain real world experience in project planning, change management, working on cross-departmental teams, and using advance Microsoft tools (beyond just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). These activities will also give the intern an opportunity to learn about and practice human centered design techniques, as we will use those approaches to inform how we gather feedback post rollout. 



  • Work closely with our Senior Manager for Technology Delivery and Adoption to implement new technologies for the organization
  • Assist in planning projects from the initiation stage through closure, including developing timelines, engaging with stakeholders, and managing budgets
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring milestones are met
  • See the “big picture,” understanding the dependencies between projects and ensuring quality runs through all our execution
  • Design and lead your own project to address one of the organization’s current needs. Examples include:
  1. Assist the HR Team in building online forms and automated workflows to replace the current system
  2. Assist the IT Operations Team in enabling staff to self-solve some of their most common service desk tickets by creating engaging training videos and written resources for Share Our Strength’s staff and new hires
  3. Assist the Technology Delivery and Adoption Team in planning and implementing the organization’s October cyber security awareness month events



  • MS Office proficiency (experience with Microsoft Flow, Forms, or Power Apps is a plus).
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes information quickly.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to high-level audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
