The Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA), the largest association of wildlife centers in Africa, advocates for its member organizations on an international scale, provides them with support, and works closely with them to raise awareness globally about wildlife conservation issues. 


PASA is offering an internship opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in Portland, OR (where PASA is based). 

As PASA’s Admin Assistant, you will learn about nonprofit management, including communications, project management, and fundraising; planning and conducting wildlife conservation and animal welfare programs; and running projects on a global scale.


This is an ideal position for any student, recent graduate, or young professional who wishes to get experience in non-profit management, the animal welfare field, or international wildlife conservation. 


Essential Responsibilities:

·        Assist with writing, researching and distributing content for social media and email mailings

·        Organize PASA’s files including the digital image library

·        Assist as needed on planning events, such as presentations and conferences

·        Provide general administrative duties including purchasing supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory, and processing postal mailings

·        Assist the PASA staff with donor management, including drafting thank you emails and calling donors

·        Conduct research for PASA’s ongoing programs

·        Other roles as needed


Skills/Qualifications

·        Must be over the age of 21

·        Must have regular access to a car

·        Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Thrive in an unstructured work environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

·        Have excellent organizational skills

·        Must be self-motivated

·        Able to handle sensitive information with tact 

·        Interest or knowledge in Africa and/or animals preferred

·        Knowledge of Photoshop and/or Wordpress helpful
