Who We Are: 

Emma’s Torch is a non-profit social enterprise that empowers refugees, asylees, and survivors of human trafficking through culinary education. Based in Brooklyn, we operate a workforce development training program through our social ventures. More information can be found at EmmasTorch.org

The Position:

The intern reports directly to the Executive Director and supports the Emma’s Torch team with a wide range of projects. They are responsible for drafting and implementing social media and marketing posts, working with the program team on data management, and supporting the team’s administrative needs. 

Requirements:

  • Passion and enthusiasm for our mission
  • Understanding of social media and communications 
  • Familiarity with the culinary industry is a plus
  • Experience in design and layout is a plus   
  • Excellence in interpersonal, written, and oral communication
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude

The Intern’s role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating content for the Emma’s Torch social media channels
  • Updating and organizing organizational data 
  • Drafting materials for key stakeholders
  • Working with our Executive Director to draft newsletters 
  • Administrative tasks 

This is a paid internship opportunity with a planned duration of six months. This position is primarily in-person at our Carroll Gardens location.
