    Description

    Summary

Art in Tanzania focuses on helping with educational tasks in the nursery, primary and secondary schools in Tanzania, and adult vocational training. The schools we help with are primarily poor village schools. Interns focus on developing primary education and also conduct advocacy work.

    Details

Art in Tanzania's Educational program is part of our Children's Agenda approach, implemented by a coalition that includes UNICEF and Save the Children.

We work in a village nursery and primary and secondary schools, but we also run adult vocational training where the focal point is the women.

The program also includes classes for children living with disabilities. Participants are specifically needed to cover subjects where the schools are weak.

Areas of development include English, arts and music, mathematics, and sports teaching.

Interns also advocate raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, health, and hygiene. Debate-based English training is a trendy subject. We use our social media pages for advocacy work, and our Facebook pages have more than 50K followers. We also highlight teacher-training activities.

Classroom tools are scarce, and the number of pupils in a school can be more than 40.

Academic-level team leaders are supervising your internship. In addition, we monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to ensure you proceed well in your study program.

The internship outcome is to learn to use your studies and experience to work in developing country conditions.

Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can be from 2 weeks to 12 months. An internship is commonly 2-3 months long. The placement starting dates are flexible.

We can take students in all year round as all programs are ongoing. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.

The typical morning tasks include practical fieldwork in the schools and communities, and afternoons are for planning, reporting, and social media visibility functions.

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is EUR 175 per week and is a personal expense. However, the cost drops to EUR 125 weekly after the first 13 weeks.

Airport transfers from and to EUR 120 are a personal expense.

A charity student or volunteer visa is USD 50 and is a personal expense. A less-than-one-year multiple-entry charity visa is USD 250.

We pay you a USD 100 per month stipend. It is small but 2x Tanzania's national minimum wage.

    Flights are a personal expense.

Local transport programs in Tanzania are a personal expense but are small if needed.

You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable tours and safaris.

We need your tentative arrival and departure date to book you and open your account.
