The Washington Square Park Conservancy is a not for profit organization
working with NYC Parks and neighborhood groups to ensure that
Washington Square Park continues as a diverse and historical urban green
space through engaging volunteers and raising funds to help keep the park
clean, safe and beautiful. The Fall Program Fellow will work closely with
Conservancy staff as well as staff at the Park to support the Conservancy’s
efforts for in-Park programming. The intern will be responsible for program set-up and clean-up, and will assist with program promotion, and communications. This is primarily an in-Park internship, with occasional remote work. There is one position available.
Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Staffing the Conservancy’s in-Park events such as fitness classes, children’s programs,
etc.
- Providing a Conservancy presence at partnership events.
- Assisting at Monthly Clean-Up volunteer events.
-Assisting with committed volunteers on a weekly basis.
- Creating live social media content featuring ongoing events and volunteer activities.
Work Hours and Compensation:
-The internship begins in August and runs through the end of October, approximately 12
weeks. Exact start and end dates will be determined upon hiring.
-Compensation for the program is $3,000.
- Interns should expect to work ~15 hours per week, Tuesday-Friday with occasional
weekend days.
-There is one available internship position, with hours varying between morning
(8am-1pm) and afternoon(3pm-8pm). Please indicate your overall availability in your
cover letter. Final schedule will be determined upon hiring.
