Position Title: Social Media Marketing Intern

Location: Preferably Greater Seattle area                       

Officially established in 2013, Rotarian Malaria Partners (RMP) is a non-profit organization comprised of Rotarians dedicated to the worldwide eradication of Malaria. RMP’s mission is to expand Rotary International’s (RI’s) malaria fighting efforts through innovative programs and projects in malaria-endemic regions in conjunction with local Rotary Clubs, and by educating and advocating malaria eradication among RI’s leadership.

The Social Media Marketing Intern will be responsible for implementing the social media marketing plan. This position will rely heavily on digital communications to build engagement, awareness, and engagement with RMP’s partners, while promoting the overall organization marketing plan.

Authority and Reporting

The Social Media Marketing Intern will report to the Deputy Director. 

Responsibilities

●     Work with the Deputy Director and Marketing Manager to implement the social media strategy

●     Create Social media content based on the organization editorial calendar (to be approved by the Marketing Manager)

●     Assist with the managing of social media messaging through RMP’s current social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn) and explore additional platforms

●     Maintain repository of malaria related content for social media postings

●     Maintain monthly reports on key social media analytics to track growth, engagement and overall success of social media marketing plan

●     Assist Marketing Manager in creating a social media toolkit for board members and partners to promote reciprocation through their social media platforms


Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

●     Social Media Management Experience

●     Social media management platform experience, i.e.: Salesforce social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.

●     Ability to take initiative and show good judgement using the organizational guidelines for social media content

●     Can manage a project from beginning to end

●     Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

●     Detail oriented with ability to anticipate and act

●     Understands and can utilize emerging platforms, digital media, and web/social media management and measurement tools

●     Can train board members how to use platforms in 1:1’s or group trainings

●     Ability to multitask/adapt in rapidly changing environments

●     Ability to work effectively independently and within a team

●     Must be able to flex work schedule initially to accommodate training and onboarding


Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience competitive with other not-for-profits of similar size, scope and focus in the Pacific Northwest.

Additional Requirements

Current enrollment or degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.  Available for 5-8 hours a week
