About IMAN

IMAN is a community organization that fosters health, wellness and healing in the inner-city by organizing for social change, cultivating the arts and operating a holistic health center.

Position Overview:

The Arts & Culture Administrative Intern will support digital administrative and programmatic-related tasks necessary for the A&C department as well as building relationships with community members. This is a 10 hour a week position. All A&C team members are expected to support the department and organization as a whole for large events and other demanding times, and may be asked to partake in specific trainings or educational opportunities.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Administrative

  • Organize and rename files in A&C Drive
  • Update calendar with Zoom links
  • Prepare minutes for meetings and recap action items
  • Assist with editing Standardized Operating Procedure documents (SOPs)
  • Submit Facilities requests

Program Support

  • Create Eventbrite pages and provide regular updates on RSVP status
  • Order supplies, prepare packing list, setup, and breakdown
  • Support with Marketing and Strategic Outreach as advised by A&C Manager
  • Assist during events
  • Document events with photo/video and capture audience anecdotes
  • Compile statistics for each event include anecdotes

Relationship - Building

  • Have 1-1s with community members, staff, artists, and others

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote a positive professional working relationship rooted in IMAN’s mission with the community, all employees, leaders, volunteers, students, and members.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as assigned including but not limited to staff meetings and IMAN’s online events.

Ideal candidate will have knowledge of and/or interests in: 

  • Exploring how to use art, music and culture to build power and facilitate health, wellness and healing.
  • Working with and learning from diverse ethnic and faith communities and individual personalities. 
  • Organizing information and building systems.
  • Web and graphic design.
  • Detail oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
