Education nonprofit Turning the Page seeks a part-time (~3 days per week) employee to join our operations and logistics team at our warehouse in Landover/Hyattsville, MD. Turning the Page raises funds for our parent engagement programs in D.C. public schools by collecting thousands of gently used book, CD, and DVD donations each month and then selling these donations both online and at physical locations such as our downtown “pop-up” sales. The duties of this part-time position primarily include processing donations, picking and shipping online orders, and corresponding with customers online.

Must be organized, responsible, extremely detail oriented, and able to lift multiple boxes of books weighing 30 pounds every day. Being able to work well independently is important, as typically only one or two staff members work at the warehouse on a given day. Even with climate controls, warehouse temperatures can fluctuate from 70-90 degrees during the summer. A general love and knowledge of books as well as being a wiz at IT-related tasks is always preferred!

Position is roughly 24 hours per week (3 days per week), Monday-Friday with the opportunity to gain more hours as needed. Must be able to work three full days per week, 8am-4:30pm. Flexible availability is preferred for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday shifts. Initial training will take place Mondays and Fridays.
