Misión Mexico, Tapachula is seeking 2 exceptional candidates for the roles of Youth Transition Program Girls Coordinator and Youth Transition Program Boys Coordinator. These roles will work closely with Youth Transition Program Manager, as well as the other key staff at Misión Mexico. These positions would require a minimum commitment of 12 months. Both roles are for a March 2020 start. This role is based in Tapachula, Mexico.

About Misión Mexico

Misión México is a place where a number of children call home; a place where they are considered one of the family. It is somewhere they are loved and provided with opportunities for growth, development and advancement in all areas of their lives including education and emotional support.

Since Misión México was established in 2001, more than 250 children from various circumstances of need have been helped. These children, aged between three and 18, have been abused, abandoned, neglected and are often from extreme poverty. All have had an opportunity to escape the cycle of abuse and poverty and are enjoying a second chance at life.

With no Government support the refuge relies solely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and fundraising to continue its work. Please check visit our website, lovelifehope.com for more information.

Role Context

Our Youth Transition Programme (YTP) was established in 2014 to enable older youth within Misión México to begin their transition to semi-independent living, and build the skills required to live independently. Misión México has procured two off-site Youth Transition Houses for our young adults to live with onsite coordinators, whilst being supported to finish higher education or pursue other career goals.

The YTP Coordinator works closely with our youth living at Misión Mexico (aged 13 years +) and our young adults living in the Youth Transition Houses (aged 16 years +) who require intense support to develop independent living and life skills.
