The Social Gastronomy Movement (SGM) is an interconnected global network of local communities that use the power of food to co-create social change. We believe that by fostering connection, collaboration, and partnerships, we enhance our individual and collective capacity to build a healthy planet, equitable society, and inclusive food systems. 

Founded in 2018, SGM has a global members base of over 150 grassroots organizations, social entrepreneurs, chefs, academics, and private sector partners mapped in more than 50 countries across five continents. Current partners include Ashoka, 50 Best Restaurants, Cargill, Global Shapers Community, Akerman LLP, Next, and Moet Hennessy.

About the Position - Be part of the solution 

The Members Circle lead requires strategic, technical, and logical mind to move the SGM members network to the next level. We look for a positive, cocreative, and highly motivated person who has experience in online and offline netweaving and community building. 

This person will use data insights and analytics to improve the member´s engagement strategy and experience. This implies not only great interpersonal communication skills but also the ability to design netweaving and community strategies and navigate platforms that allow for a seamless members journey. 

It will be key that this person has great teamwork and motivational skills to support everyone in the circle with the right tools, infrastructure, and connections needed to grow the Social Gastronomy Movement and the impact of our community.


Your tasks

  • Lead the Members Circle overall strategy and team, defining objectives and key results for the year
  • Represent the Members Circle in circle lead and strategic meetings, while providing feedback and support to the team
  • Co-create the community engagement strategy, processes, and infrastructure
  • Design and implement the platform strategies and integration (Systems Map, WeChangers, Salesforce)
  • Increase members platforms engagement and use
  • Generate data insights and analytics to inform the community engagement strategy
  • Identify current relevant themes valuable to members, and coordinate actions with the Global Member Engager around those 
  • Create a Members Circle impact data and measurement systems
  • Host and design onboarding sessions with new members 


Your qualifications 

  • Systems change thinking mindset and skills
  • Experience in online platform design and CRM management (Salesforce, Online Community platforms, networking tools) 
  • Network and community building experience 
  • A wiz in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Data analysis and management 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and communicative
  • Flexible schedule, as our team navigates time zones all over the world
  • Fluent in written and verbal English. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portugues is an advantage

While our organization is registered in Zurich, we primarily operate out of Latin America. This impacts the salary range we are able to offer at this point in time.
