MoveOn.org is a community of millions of members working together to create progressive change in America. We take on campaigns to challenge entrenched power and push back against right-wing policies, while pursuing economic, racial, and social justice.


In 2018, MoveOn is running a massive midterm election program to help end GOP control of Congress, elect a slate of down-ballot champions from coast-to-coast, and to build progressive power. To enable this work, we have hired a significant number of new team members and seek an HR and Finance Coordinator to support our team.


As HR and Finance Coordinator, you will provide a range of HR and Finance administrative support. This role is crucial to the success of MoveOn’s important progressive efforts -- you will be ensuring that our systems and processes function while our team takes on David vs. Goliath battles to defend our democracy. This position reports to the Administrative Director.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR administrative support in the following areas:
  • Review payroll
  • Maintain online personnel  files
  • Maintain org chart
  • Process new hire, benefits, and change of address paperwork
  • Support Flex Spending Account management and enrollments
  • Audit HR systems and employee facing platforms to maximize their efficiency.
  • Set up computers and order other equipment for new employees
  • Provide research and logistics support for staff retreats
  • Provide finance support in the following areas:
  • Approve reimbursement and credit card reports in Nexonia
  • Perform initial accounts payable processing
  • Create financial reports as needed for multiple entities
  • Audit reimbursed benefits (wellness, internet, cell phone) to ensure their accuracy.
  • Collect and process W-9s for new vendors.
  • Other administrative and operational tasks as needed


Required skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years of human resources, finance, or operations experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent personal organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism with colleagues and partners
  • Commitment to racial and social justice and an understanding of organizational equity
  • Ability to learn various MoveOn systems for benefits, payroll, and finance
  • Self-directedness—MoveOn is a virtual office, and while you will interact with your colleagues constantly, you will be driving your own workflow and output.


Reports to: Administrative Director


Location: This is a work from home position can be based anywhere in the Continental US

 

Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Full-time; benefits such as 100%-employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for all staff and their children; floating and all-staff holidays; and reimbursement of home office expenses
