Who we look for: Abaarso teachers work long hours in a boarding school environment, as they are expected to fully immerse themselves in the school’s mission. They forge lifetime connections with grateful students who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity of a world- class education. Abaarso is looking for individuals with a 4 year degree interested in dedicating at least one year to training top high school students. We are searching specifically for applicants with experience in upper level mathematics, as well as computer science. Experience teaching or working with youth is desirable, but not required.
Responsibilities: Abaarso is a boarding school, so teachers are expected to work in areas of student life as well. Teachers often find themselves working from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm or later, lesson planning, teaching, and supervising student activities. New teachers may also find themselves advising senior internships in ways such as helping to run the shop, organize our school's tutoring programs, coach sports teams, etc.
