Position Overview

The Energy Programs Analyst will primarily be responsible for program performance and data integrity by providing analytical and program support across all three of our energy programs. This person will conduct research, analysis, evaluation, and reporting as directed by our Energy Programs Director. We’re looking for someone that is highly organized, data-driven, possesses advanced analytical skills, and is able to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities at once. They should have a keen attention to detail and be able to communicate complex concepts and findings to a varied audience. An ideal candidate would be comfortable working as part of a small team while also possessing a level of initiative that allows them to be productive when working independently.


COVID-19 Operating Notice

Due to the pandemic, our staff is currently working remotely. Depending on when this position is filled, the selected candidate may be required to work remotely for an indeterminate period of time and will require a safe, quiet, designated remote space from which they can perform their responsibilities without distraction during business hours.


Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze reports and data provided by staff members and several third-party organizations and vendors
  • Identify and report trends and opportunities through analysis of program data
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of new forecasting tools, with particular focus on financial flows
  • Perform back-casting analysis on annual and monthly program performance
  • Work with staff accountant on financial assessments of monthly program performance
  • Tracking and accounting for renewable energy attributes in each of the relevant programs by product
  • Perform correlation analysis on pricing, costs, and member data
  • Perform program and financial analyses to inform budgetary and other financial decisions and keep leadership abreast of program developments
  • Ensure high-quality program performance and integrity through reporting and program process optimization
  • Maintain impeccable data hygiene through routine and ad hoc data cleanings


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an analyst role, preferably in a business-to-consumer setting
  • Intermediate Salesforce CRM user experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, filters) and ability to work with large data sets, with specific project experience in past professional positions
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and procedures
  • Success performing market research, financial analyses, and making data-driven decisions
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Process oriented with strong logical thinking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate information effectively


Ideal Qualifications

  • Prior energy industry experience highly desired
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Comfortable deriving structure from ambiguity
