Location: Remotely from anywhere in US or Ashburn, VA.  

Salary Range: $62,581 - $68,103 Annually

NRPA is currently seeking a NRPA is currently seeking a Playground Safety Manager to join our Education department.

 

Job Overview

The Playground Safety Manager manages the delivery of the Playground Maintenance Course (PMC) and the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) course and certification exam. Collaborates and works closely with course hosts, program instructors, committee members and the professional testing company. Focuses on program growth and positioning the association as the premier playground safety resource in the country.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

·      Forecasts, develops, and manages the playground program budgets. Responsible for the ownership of program revenues and expenses while acting on the best interests of the organization over the needs that support an individual, program, or department.

·      Manages the program development needs (reviewing policies and procedures, strategic planning, etc.)

·      Manages the delivery of playground maintenance and playground safety programs. Facilitates relationships with program instructors including keeping them current with changes in policies and/or procedures and hosting instructor meetings as needed. Collaborates across departments and with external instructors and hosts to ensure all logistics for courses and examinations are arranged.

·      Serves as the lead in developing and executing marketing plans and initiatives to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded.

·      Maintains strong customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.

·      Serves as staff liaison to all playground maintenance/safety committees and task groups.

·      Represents NRPA’s position on playground safety standards at ASTM meetings. Writes and promotes articles on playground maintenance and playground safety programs for internal and external publications.


Minimum Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s Degree or continued education equivalent required, industry certification or equivalent preferred.

·      Minimum of 5 – 7 years in related field; 3 – 5 years position specific experience preferred; Association, non-profit, or P & R experience preferred.

·      Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving and teamwork

·      Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts, is able to represent those in external relationships, and ensures that they are reflected in the playground safety programs.

·      Certifications - Must complete CPSI course and examination within 6 months of hiring date.

·      Infrequently required to lift up to 80 lbs.

·      Willing to travel up to 15-20 days per year outside of the Washington Metropolitan Area or your remote work location, including attendance at the NRPA annual conference.
