    Description

    Purpose of Position:

    Volunteer Coordinator supports an engaging and innovative AmeriCorps Seniors (ACS) volunteer program by recruiting, placing, and managing volunteers aged 55 and above to assist frail older adults who want to continue living independently. We are seeking an experienced volunteer coordinator who is compassionate and enthusiastic about volunteerism.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Recruiting, screening, training, and placing volunteers; maintaining records and preparing reports, and conducting in-home visits to help monitor placements
    • Provides direct supervision, instruction, support, counseling, and information to volunteers.
    • Schedules, coordinates, and implements placements with clients, senior companions, and volunteer site representatives.
    • Develops client care plans for companion/client placements.
    • Help conduct monthly volunteer In-Service
    • Maintain volunteer personnel files
    • Assist with annual volunteer recognition events
    • Assist Program Director with the development of partner agencies
    • Manage special projects

    Performs other duties that may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of aging
    • Strong proficiency in technology skills, with proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM platforms required.
    • Ability to understand, simplify, and communicate complex functionality to volunteers, clients, team members, and the community.
    • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Ability to carry out assignments and projects without detailed instructions.
    • Work compassionately and effectively with older adults, family caregivers, colleagues, and other professionals.
    • Licensed driver with reliable transportation & good driving record
    • Bilingual in English/ Spanish preferred
