Oregon Rural Action, La Grande, Oregon, seeks a full-time Staff Director. Oregon Rural Action is a force for progressive public policy and grass-roots democracy in Oregon. ORA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to promote social justice, agricultural and economic sustainability. We empower people by providing information and tools for addressing the issues affecting our communities. We are a member group of the Western Organization of Resource Councils.
Qualifications: Strong background in community organizing; excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to motivate diverse people to work together and develop collective vision and goals; strategic thinker; ability to set priorities and handle multiple competing responsibilities; good interpersonal skills and a sense of humor; ability to maintain positive, supportive attitude; passion for social justice; excellent computer skills; willingness to travel throughout rural eastern Oregon.
$500/mo. healthcare stipend. Generous vacation, holidays, personal days. Annual personnel development stipend.
Level of Language Proficiency
Proficiency in spoken and written English. Spanish proficiency preferred. Excellent communicator.
