We are looking for someone who can truly identify with our mission and project the organization's passion for what we do and who we serve among the community, to join our finance team as a full time Accountant.

Job Summary: Manages the rental revenue cycle from billing to review of aging, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of financial accounts. Oversees general ledger accounts (including bank accounts, receivables, fixed assets) of affiliated companies. Prepares monthly revenue analysis, including report of problem receivables. Calculates and administers consumer residential fees, including HUD rent subsidies. Acts as liaison with housing authorities and HUD.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepares determination letters/amounts and monthly calculations for consumer rents and residential fees.
• Reviews voucher payments related to HUD properties and works with billing vendor to ensure accuracy of billings.
• Manages tenant files in accordance with HUD guidelines.
• Manages HUD projects and housing authorities including recertification and audits.
• Prepares HUD owner-certified annual statements and contract renewal submissions.
• Posts transactions reconciles bank statements and general ledger accounts and reviews AR aging for affiliated companies on a monthly basis.
• Maintains fixed asset module.
• Assists in preparation for annual audits and year end reporting as requested.
• Maintains Northeast Arc’s property leases; establishes tracking mechanism for rent escalations and notification to CEO and CFO of upcoming lease end dates.
• Documents all processes as a best practice.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a major in business management, accounting, or finance related field required.
• A minimum Three (3) years of general ledger accounting experience required.
• Experience with various subsidized housing programs strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced use of Excel.
• Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
• Ability to meet monthly deadlines and work in a busy environment.
