Organization Description
South Asian Youth Action (SAYA) is a 501(c)3 organization for New York City youth ranging in age from kindergarteners to college students. SAYA is South Asian-focused, inclusive and committed to connecting young people from all backgrounds to opportunities. Our mission is to foster a strong sense of belonging in youth and provide them with tools to thrive academically, professionally and personally. Many of our participants are recent immigrants and face challenges that can hinder their chances to be academically successful, graduate high school and go to college. SAYA provides an accessible, safe and culturally affirming space for all youth and offers mentorship beyond the classroom so they confidently grow into engaged community members ready for college, career and personal success. Established in 1996, SAYA has grown into a $3.8 million organization currently running programs at nine NYC schools and our community center in Elmhurst, Queens
Position Summary
The Chief Development Officer will be a member of SAYA’s leadership team and a key organizational culture carrier. Working closely as a thought partner to the Executive Director, the Chief Development Officer will develop and manage a fundraising plan to support SAYA. Using research and relationship building, they will expand SAYA's corporate, foundation and individual donor giving base through grant proposals, major gifts, fundraising campaigns, special events and planned giving. They will maintain and look for opportunities to increase City and State government contracts. They will also create and execute an effective marketing and branding strategy by expanding the organization's online presence, securing media coverage and producing effective promotional materials. They will manage the department’s short and long term initiatives and projects as well as provide supervision to Development and Communications staff. They will work in close partnership with the finance and program teams, often being responsible for moving projects forward. A successful candidate is skilled and strategic in maintaining relationships with all of the organization’s stakeholders and a talented writer. They are an effective project manager with keen attention to detail. They are an analytical and creative thinker able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Individual Donors: Lead Individual Donor Cultivation and Contribution Strategy
Event Planning: Oversee Logistical Coordination and Follow-Up
Marketing and Communications: Increase Organization’s Visibility
Volunteers: Expand Volunteer Opportunities and Increase Engagement of Young Professionals

Compensation
$95,000+ commensurate with experience
