The Montclair Cooperative School seeks a full time Director of Development to begin in December 2018.

The Montclair Cooperative School is an independent nursery through eighth grade school founded in 1963 and located in Montclair, NJ. We have an enrollment of 170 students, a program that is progressive and a community that is highly collaborative.   

We are seeking a development professional whose philosophy and work ethic align with our small community and progressive mission. The Director of Development will develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan that reflects the school culture and its constituents of parents and alumni. S/he will oversee an active annual campaign including setting and meeting annual targets, drafting written appeals and engaging with volunteers who lead and organize fundraising events such as the auction and book fair. The Director of Development reports directly to the Head of School and is a member of the senior administrative team comprised of the the Business Manager, the Director of Admissions, and the Director of Technology.

The Director of Development will collaborate with the school’s board of trustees to to support fundraising that helps the school fulfill its mission. S/he will be responsible for providing board education, partnering with the s Vice Chair of Fundraising, partnering with event committees, maintaining the fundraising database, coordinating and implementing alumni outreach, managing our grants submissions deadlines and supporting the Head of School’s efforts to cultivate donor relationships.
