POSITION SUMMARY

Founded in 2001, Good+Foundation is a leading national nonprofit, with offices in New York City and Los Angeles, that works to dismantle multi-generational poverty by pairing tangible goods with innovative services for under-resourced fathers, mothers and caregivers, creating an upward trajectory for the whole family.

In 2010, Good+ expanded programming to intentionally include fathers, because the more we invest in fathers, the greater impact we see on children and families. Our Training Academy helps new social workers address their implicit biases and increase father engagement in their outreach, and we’ve become active in the policy arena through our partnership with Ascend at the Aspen Institute to reform the outdated child support system.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will own and execute the organization’s social media and email marketing strategy, including writing copy, taking photos and other visual assets, and maintaining a robust content calendar. This is a cross-functioning position that assists with meeting the overall financial goals of the foundation and advancing its mission through digital outreach and engagement and will provide support to the Director of Corporate Giving and the Development and Events Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads social media presence on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn & Facebook
  • Captures and produces social media content in partnership with the Programs and Operations teams
  • Develops and implements communications and social media calendar with guidance from Chief Marketing Officer
  • Creates thoughtful social media strategy and develops weekly content and copy to align with schedule, padding in time for approvals
  • Plans, aggregates and enters content in Mailchimp for monthly e-newsletters and all email communications, padding in time for approvals. Organizes lists and segments for distributions.
  • Reports monthly progress for all channels using Google Analytics and other social tools. Uses these tools to guide future efforts and suggest shifts in strategic direction, when necessary.
  • Compiles social media impressions and reports on growth during development meetings
  • Works with Development and Events Manager and external designers, when necessary, to create digital and social media graphics for storytelling purposes
  • Develop, edit, and update collateral materials, such as the Good+Foundation Annual Report

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE

  • Professional experience managing social media accounts for an organization, company, or brand
  • Strong sense of storytelling and the proven ability to write with clarity, excellent grammar, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social listening/posting tools 
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Suite, Canva, or other design software
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms and best practices
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-departmentally, as well as independently with minimal supervision  

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Fundraising experience
  • Website management experience
  • Basic video editing skills


The Good+ team is currently working on a re-rentry plan. As of mid-October, the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will be required to be on site approximately 2-3 days/week at our NY office, located in Manhattan’s Garment District.
