MBD Community Housing Corp., a nonprofit development and management organization in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced Senior Property Manager for various HUD 202 and tax credit properties. 


MBD owns over 1,3200 units, located in the Crotona Park East section of the Bronx, most of which were developed using Low Income Tax Credit funding.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


·        Overseeing the daily operations of the properties and maintenance staff

·           Extensive interaction with the individual property managers

·        Communicating with tenants

·        Supervising outside vendor relationships

·        Reviewing and authorizing purchase orders and invoices

·           Supervising the preparation of vacant apartments and common area renovation

·        Representing management in union arbitrations and related matters

·        Preparing capital and operating budgets

·        Updating policies and procedures pertaining to rental housing management.

·        Developing, managing and administering all financial responsibilities of the department and work with Owner during the preparation of budgets. 

·        Performing routine facilities inspections and coordinates repair work.

·        Managing and controlling inventory.

·        Responsible for pro-active positive relationships with residents, addressing tenant issues, concerns, needs, service, and programmatic desires.


•   Replying to tenant complaints and requests for building services.

•   Troubleshooting problems.

•   Traveling to each property site on a routine and regular basis to provide support to staff,

      meet with residents, and provide appropriate supervisory guidance.

•   Performing other related duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities

•   Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.

•   Minimum of Education, BA preferred.

•   Knowledge of routine office procedures, computer and computer functions.

•   Working knowledge and proficiency with Yardi, or similar software.

•   Working knowledge and proficiency with MS Office software applications.

•   Working knowledge of HUD and Tax Credits procurement and housing regulations.

•   Current knowledge of landlord-tenant and fair housing laws.

•   Current knowledge of Local Laws, i.e. Local Law 11, etc.  


•   Demonstrated ability to multi taskmanage multiple problems and determine specific courses of action.

•   Demonstrated ability to gather and classify data and prepare accurate, concise and meaningful reports.

•   Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.

•   Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other management staff in team environment.

•   Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and through written correspondence with external and internal organizations and individuals.

•   Seven years increasing responsible experience managing residential, multi-unit housing developments as a property manager.
