Director of Development

Our organization is currently seeking a skilled, creative, and engaging Director of Development to oversee and develop our donor relations program and manage our fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our non-profit’s fundraising campaigns and community relationships to promote Orion’s visibility and create opportunities for programs and funding. This position is responsible for foundation and corporate research, along with grant writing and stewardship. If you have a strong background in non-profit fundraising and development, we encourage you to apply.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional experience in fundraising with a track record of success; specific experience in individual giving and/or major gifts, foundation grant writing, and corporate relations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) Preferred
  • Proven success at securing major gift support and in establishing relationships with individuals, corporations and family foundations.
  • Experience in scheduling and staffing solicitation calls and conducting follow up and stewardship.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in developing fundraising materials and proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; capable of working effectively with senior management, leadership, staff members, consultants, recipients of Orion’s services, and donors/prospects.
  • Computer fluency in Microsoft Office, donor database software, web applications, and knowledgeable about the role of technology and electronic communication in fundraising.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and personally insured vehicle

Compensation:

Orion offers competitive wages in addition to an excellent benefits package for full-time employees which includes up to 100% employer paid medical, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance, as well as significant contributions made to dependent insurance premiums. Orion also offers 11 paid holidays, 3 weeks of paid time off, and a 401K with 100% company match up to 4%.
