TWM Certified Teacher Program Manager (Part-Time)

Compensation: $25-$35/hour, approximately 8-12 hours/week

Teach Western Mass is hiring a part-time Manager of the Certified Teacher Program to coordinate and execute TWM’s Certified Teacher Program, which recruits experienced, licensed teachers from across the region and country to come teach in Western Massachusetts’ schools. This position will average 8-12 hours per week January 2021 through June 2021. The ideal candidate has experience working in education and working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Teach Western Mass is a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with local district schools, charter schools, and institutions of higher education to bring more high-quality, diverse educators into our region’s most high-need schools. What You’ll Do

The part-time Manager of the Certified Teacher Program will report to the Director of Recruitment & Engagement and work closely with colleagues on the Recruitment & Engagement Team, and other partners to design and implement Teach Western Mass’s Certified Teacher Program. Specific responsibilities include:

• Manage all aspects of the online database and application process for the Certified Teacher Program, including regularly communicating with applicants and moving them through the application process in a timely manner
• Manage all communication with Certified Teacher Program leads, applicants and enrollees in a timely and professional manner
• Execute selection process for Certified Teacher Program applicants including reviewing applications, scoring applications, and consulting with other team members to determine which candidates to accept 
• Work with accepted applicants to enroll them in the program to reach target number of Certified Teacher Program enrollees as determined by TWM team prior to hiring season
• Work with TWM recruitment team to determine and articulate “value add” of Certified Teacher Program to TWM’s K-12 partner schools
• Attend hiring fairs as needed to advertise the Certified Teacher Program and meet with interested candidates
• Work with Manager of Recruitment & Marketing to generate leads for the Certified Teacher Program and take point on follow-up and cultivation with Certified Teacher Program leads, including individualized outreach to candidates

The ideal Manager of the Certified Teacher Program candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and is eager to be a key part of a passionate, hard-working team. Specific qualifications include:

• At least 5 years of work experience; ideally, experience working in education and working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and an eagerness to work towards creative solutions to challenges that might arise
• Self-directed with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams effectively
• Comfort and ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• A commitment to Teach Western Mass’ core values and mission, including equity and antiracism
• This position is based in Western Massachusetts, and will require regional travel. Proximity to our location is preferred.
