ABOUT COLOR OF CHANGE
Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. We help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force driven by over one million members, we move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America. We move members from analysis to action on crucial issues so that we can build the Black political power necessary to transform the written and unwritten rules of society. Color Of Change was founded in 2005 in response to the realization that during the crisis caused by Hurricane Katrina, as Black people were left stranded on their roofs to die, no one was afraid to disappoint Black people. When the government, media, corporations, and other decision-makers are not afraid to disappoint Black people, Black communities are negatively impacted and cannot move forward.
TEAM SUMMARY
The Marketing & Storytelling team leads the brand, content, culture change, communications, and influencer engagement necessary to advance Color Of Change’s values, vision, and efforts across society. Through various platforms and mediums, the team helps Color Of Change, our members and allies become more powerful and deliver on our main promise: elevating the stories and solutions we believe in, increasing the demand for change, sparking the level and frequency of action that can force the hand of decision-makers, and shifting societal norms—all in service of achieving real, lasting and systemic change. Central to the Marketing & Storytelling team’s work is Color Of Change Hollywood, an initiative designed to change the rules that shape how Black people (and the issues that affect our communities) are represented in entertainment and media, to create racial equity in the entertainment industry, and to effectively leverage cultural influencers in support Color Of Change’s organizing campaigns.
ROLE SUMMARY
Color Of Change is seeking a full-time Senior Manager of Accountability Partnerships to lead the development, implementation, and management of Color Of Change’s Change Industry program, a series of roadmaps to racial justice and accountability for various entertainment industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding and understanding of the entertainment landscape, existing relationships within at least two of the roadmap industries, strong communications and problem-solving skills, and project management experience. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in racial and social justice issues who is excited to bring their talents and acumen to bear in a fast-paced, collaborative, and strategic growth-focused environment.
