CancerCare's Manhattan location seeks a full-time Clinical Supervisor to be responsible for delivering CancerCare's free services to people whose lives are affected by cancer.

The position is full-time, Monday - Friday; 1 day 11 AM - 7 PM, and 4 days, 9 AM - 5 PM.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provides individual counseling (in-person, via zoom and/or telephone), as well as support groups (in-person, via zoom, telephone, and/or message board);
  • Provides case management via telephone to people with cancer and caregivers;
  • Provides immediate assistance and support to cancer patients, caregivers, and/or those who are bereaved contacting CancerCare via a national toll-free Hopeline;
  • Providing clinical supervision to LMSWs
  • Providing Emergency Phone coverage for walk-ins and distressed callers
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Masters Degree in Social Work and New York LCSW credential is required
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressively responsible experience in clinical and program coordination in a health, hospice, or mental health setting delivering interventions to clients coping with chronic and acute life-threatening illness as well as with the bereaved is required
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in clinical supervision
  • Knowledge of medical and psychosocial aspects of cancer is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle complex clinical issues which may develop unexpectedly
  • Highly skilled in working with clients who are experiencing stress and trauma in their lives as a result of coping with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and/or suicidality
  • Strong time management, excellent communication (both oral and written), highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write quickly, clearly, and compellingly;
