The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead the marketing and communications team for the Foundation’s flagship program, PJ Library. The Director of Marketing will be excited to creatively use new channels to reach a broad audience and add new subscribers to the PJ Library and PJ Our Way programs around the world. This is a full-time position based at the HGF main office in Agawam, MA. The Director of Marketing will be a part of the PJ Library management team, and report to the Chief Operating Officer.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Grow the PJ Library Subscriber Base

·       Supervise a dedicated team of marketing and communications staff

·       Lead strategy and execution of multichannel marketing campaigns, incorporating direct mail, digital channels, and social media

·       Manage paid advertising campaigns on Facebook, Google AdWords, and other digital/social media channels

·       Manage and develop co-marketing relationships with external partners


Continually Innovate and Improve

·       Use Google Analytics and other measurement tools to regularly evaluate and report on ROI and cost per acquisition of direct, digital, and multichannel campaigns

·       Use data and analytics to optimize email marketing for open rate, click-through rate, and conversion


Represent PJ Library Externally

·       Direct media and public relations strategy for all HGF programs

·       Collaborate across internal teams, such as Advancement and Engagement, to design and execute communications campaigns

·       Work with PJ Library staff and community partners worldwide to grow and strengthen the PJ Library and PJ Our Way programs

·       Manage the drafting of copy and design for all marketing collateral, including video

·       Oversee the creation and maintenance of content for all PJ Library web properties


Desired Skills/Experience

·       Minimum 7 years of work experience in marketing, advertising, or related field

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing or related field

·       Knowledge of Jewish values, customs, and traditions

·       Familiarity with marketing to the parent/family demographic

·       Experience managing teams and leading collaborative projects across teams and departments

·       Successful track record of developing and executing multichannel marketing campaigns with demonstrated positive outcomes 

·       Familiarity with MailChimp, Constant Contact, and/or other email marketing platforms

·       Experience managing website content

·       Fluency with Google Analytics and other digital measurement tools

·       Strong copywriting and copy editing background

·       Comfort using Microsoft Excel

·       Ability to prioritize and balance multiple concurrent projects

·       Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
