Project EATS (PE) seeks an experienced sales professional to join its dynamic and growing team as Sales Manager. This position reports to the PE Chief Operating Officer, and is responsible for all sales and distribution activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of the Sales Manager are as follows:

 ·        Oversee sales and distribution at Project EATS sales channels including farms stands and online platforms

·        Serve as a thought partner to the Chief Operating Officer in developing pricing, sales and promotions strategies

·        Work with Farm Operations Director and Community Health Manager to oversee allocations to Project EATS farm stands, Farmacies and CSA, and to inform crop plan and harvest timing to meet customer needs

·        Develop, implement and manage standard operating procedures across sales channels including but not limited to stocking and replenishment, cash management (including security and timely forwarding/deposits), operating days and hours and display and stand aesthetics

·        Monitor sales performance and develop strategies and plans for course correction as

required throughout the year

·        Work with Senior Management and Product & Culinary Manager to set and revisit prepared food pricing

·        Collect, maintain and report accurate and complete data, including but not limited to sales by location, by crop/product and by payment means

·        Oversee Customer Service Representatives; this includes establishing performance goals and evaluating performance of direct reports

·        Maintain all farm stand sites and materials in good working condition and to attractive standards

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher

·        Minimum of 3 years food retail sales experience; farm sales experience a plus

·        Experience selling to restaurants and/or working as part of chef staff in restaurants preferred

·        Clear and effective verbal and written communications

·        Experience with relationship building and management

·        Analytical thinking and problem solving with superior organizational skills

·        Flexible, comfortable with ambiguity and possess a passion for continuous learning

·        Valid driver’s license, experience and comfort operating a commercial van in NYC

·        Ability to travel to program sites around the New York City metropolitan area as required

·        Bilingual skills, especially Spanish, is a plus
