Job Description

The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms by guiding justice innovators, nationally and internationally. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Center is looking for an ambitious, human resources coordinator to join our growing Human Resources department. The Coordinator will serve as a credible, trusted advisor to provide solutions and recommendations to enhance the employee experience while providing administrative support and guidance to all staff. This includes providing consultation across a broad range of HR areas, including talent management, talent acquisition, engagement, employee relations, compensation, performance management, and change management and HR policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic HR consultation and support to network and project directors and leadership
  • Provide coaching and general employee relations support to employees and leaders across the organization to address and resolve workplace conflicts and other employee issues
  • Serve as the HR counterpart to select projects and departments on all human resources related functions including onboarding, employee relations, HR policies, organizational design, and performance management
  • Ensure that human resources processes, policies, and best practices are implemented and reinforced consistently by leadership while identify areas for improvement
  • Support talent acquisition by reviewing and assisting managers with drafting job descriptions and serving as liaison among the BU groups, talent acquisition, and systems and compensation to help managers successfully navigate the hiring process
  • Advise managers on compensation strategies
  • Partner effectively with the Director of Human Resources to drive consultation and support the needs of the business
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff by being proactive, responsive to employee inquiries, and encouraging teamwork and collaboration
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and support provided to CCI staff
  • Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information to recommend a course of action
  • Support with other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4-5 years of related experience in human resources, and must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. We are looking for an analytical, solutions-oriented human resources coordinator who is committed to improving efficiency and collaboration. We are also looking for someone with a demonstrated ability to communicate, interact, influence, and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. The ability to exercise good judgement, handle confidential information, and maintain absolute discretion is required. The person in this role will need to effectively manage multiple projects and juggle competing priorities effectively, while maintaining a high level of customer service support for our growing organization.
