Summary Description

The IT Operations Analyst reports directly to the Director of Information and Technology and is responsible for providing high-level and in-depth technical support to the Land Trust Alliance’s end-user community on hardware, software, and network-related issues and use. The person in this role maintains, troubleshoots, manages, repairs, and upgrades IT equipment including computer desktops, laptops, servers, printers, VoIP phones, and other necessary information system technologies. Works closely with the Senior IT Manager to identify, recommend, develop, and implement technical solutions and improvements for the organization; also provides support to other members of the department on general network and server-related tasks.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Serves as first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network/internet connectivity issues in a primarily Windows OS environment
  • Provides remote and desk-side support for an environment comprised of in-office and remote users
  • Escalates support incidents and requests, as required, to internal staff and/or external managed service providers
  • Supervises helpdesk ticketing system queue; routes requests to team members and provides status updates
  • Manages all hardware assets including desktop workstations, laptop systems, VoIP devices, and multi-function printers
  • Tracks system life, technical specifications, and warranty terms to determine procurement schedule
  • Procures, configures, and installs new workstations
  • Provides basic support, maintenance, and configuration of physical and virtual servers
  • Follows standardized procedures for new-hire setup/onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Provides audiovisual support and conference room setup
  • Coordinates with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot relevant issues
  • Organizes and maintains software inventory and licensing found in the end-user environment
  • Maintains software applications and workstation operating systems regular maintenance and patching
  • Monitors the server infrastructure based primarily on Microsoft, HP, and VMware technologies
  • Communicates relevant IT information to the organization, detailing its impact on business processes
  • Develops training documentation of relevant IT processes to be performed by end-users
  • Suggests system modifications to mitigate potential business impediments
  • Occasionally works after hours and on weekends as required to ensure full systems availability and/or deploy new technology solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a professional office environment
  • Must be proficient in Windows OS; Microsoft Office365, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Minimum of two years of experience supporting enterprise Ethernet; VLANs; QOS; DNS; DHCP; routing; switching; IP addressing; Windows Servers; MS Exchange; MS HyperV; and anti-virus
  • Must have a minimum of one year of experience supporting Windows 2008/2013 Active Directory or Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, and Network shares (file and device)
  • A demonstrated efficient and effective use of problem-solving and task prioritization to solve IT system incidents/problems
  • Excellent communication skills and experience effectively communicating with technical and non-technical audiences across in-person and remote offices
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and be willing to work independently towards deadlines while maintaining a team orientation
