The Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc. seeks a full-time volunteer coordinator to work with the pro bono unit’s pro bono integration project funded by a grant from the Legal Services Corporation. The unit will be using real-time data collected from our volunteers, clients, and staff to identify and implement best practices across more than 15 pro bono projects. The volunteer coordinator will be supervised by the Pro Bono Director and will work closely with the Pro Bono Engagement attorney and Enhanced Services Paralegal.
The goal of the pro bono integration project is to incorporate volunteer resources into the provision of client services. The volunteer coordinator will work in Legal Aid’s office downtown with travel required to other Legal Aid county offices and outreach events around the metro-Atlanta area. The volunteer coordinator will work with the Pro Bono Director to implement the grant objectives, maintain the volunteer website, train, recruit, and support volunteers, and market pro bono opportunities.
Duties include: maintaining the volunteer website, overseeing pro bono data management (data entry, record collection, tracking & review), developing marketing materials for volunteer events, coordinating the publication of a monthly volunteer newsletter, assisting staff and pro bono partners with the coordination of pro bono projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required. Candidates should have strong writing and public speaking skills, strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, experience with website content development and management, data collection and review, and have a demonstrated interest or experience working with low-income persons. Candidates with substantive knowledge of legal issues relevant to Legal Aid clients and website accessibility are strongly encouraged to apply. Communication and listening skills, ability to work in a team and alone, adaptability, and appreciation of diversity are required. Previous experience with Google Analytics, html coding, graphic design, or video production is highly valued.
The salary for this position starts at $31,500+ depending on experience. The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, sick, and paid parental leave; health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance; partial payment for dependent and partner health insurance; educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month (after a $65 deductible and set off of other loan reimbursement amounts); and voluntary tax-sheltered annuity with 3% match.
