SUMMARY

CRCD is celebrating 15 years of serving the community in South Los Angeles. Over the past 3 years, the organization experienced tremendous growth and 2020 has proven the resiliency and unprecedented demand for CRCD’s services. As the organization grows, so does the need for expanded Marketing. As the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in increasing the visibility of the organization’s work by helping to develop, execute, and monitor marketing programs across a variety of social channels to multiple target audiences with varied demographics, create compelling marketing materials to promote our growing programs and support our dedicated programmatic team in changing lives in South Los Angeles.

The ideal candidate will possess a general understanding of event planning (virtual and in-person) and community outreach to promote CRCD programs. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work under the close direction of senior personnel and will possess a moderate understanding of the general aspects required with a focus on the newly launched Local Rental Owners Collaborative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Graphic design to create flyers, social media graphics, data-focused infographics, brochures, pamphlets, posters, etc. and distribute in online and offline channels.

2. Produces copy, updates, and maintains the LALROC.com and CRCD websites in WordPress as needed.

3. Creates and distributes monthly newsletters to Local Rental Owners Collaborative with information of interest to rental property owners.

4. Updates and understands the importance of effective utilization of all social media platforms including organic vs. paid reach, content curation, and daily audience interaction.

5. Coordinates and markets monthly gatherings of the Local Rental Owners Collaborative. Attends openings, events, takes pictures, and edits photos, retouching as needed. The ability to edit video is strongly desired.

6. Ability to create content and support programs in meeting their goals on a limited budget.

7. Thorough understanding of social media platforms to create posts, monitor pages, and address follower inquiries.

8. Monitor the Local Rental Owners Collaborative email inbox and vet inquiries.

9. Understands and executes grassroots marketing campaigns.

10. Experience with B2B and B2C marketing strategies

11. Exceptional communication skills: both verbal and written. Spanish speaking is a plus.

12. Problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with the ability to act independently across competing priorities.

13. Customer service mindset for servicing internal and external requests.

14. Support operations of the Marketing & Communications Team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma with 0-2 years’ experience or an Associate’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or related field with 1-2 years’ experience

2. Basic understanding in the use of software applications: Microsoft office suite, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher, InDesign, iMovie, and Mac

3. Self -Starter with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to meet tight deadlines with competing priorities.

4. Understanding of marketing processes, procedures, and internal controls

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. College-level courses or certification in graphic design or related field of studies

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

3. 1-2 years’ experience in the non-profit industry preferred but not required.

4. Experience with photography and videography for use in marketing collateral and social media.

5. Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites throughout the day

2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

3. May necessitate working in busy and loud environments.

4. May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor.
