Director, Teacher Enrichment Program

 

Overview:

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE), an internationally renowned education non-profit in the Tysons Corner area, seeks the next Director of the Center’s Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP). The Center's mission is to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and to encourage collaboration between and among leaders in the global community. The Teacher Enrichment Program was launched in 2012 to connect underserved rural and urban middle and high school teachers with leading experts from industry and academia to explore cutting-edge research and development and to make meaningful professional links with direct benefits for them and their students.

 

As Director of the Teacher Enrichment Program, candidate will be responsible for:

- Planning and implementation of the program’s afterschool professional development workshops in seven states (California, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia)

- Engaging in outreach and partnership development

- Organizing and updating the online database of STEM content for teachers

- Maintaining the Lab Bench, program overview, and Facebook webpages

- Conducting program assessment

- Working with Development on grant reports

 

This is a full-time position with extensive travel to conduct all professional development workshops (~10 weeks during the school year). Wages will be commensurate with experience. Flexible hours between 7:30am and 7:00pm Monday – Friday

Position Requirements:

·        Program management experience

·        Prior K-12 education experience or familiarity with education policy

·        Event/workshop planning experience

·        Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications

·        Familiarity with online social networks and website content management platforms

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in and outside of the office

·        Advanced degree in STEM or education a plus
