The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is looking for an Accounting Lead to manage an Accounting team, develop and implement systems for account reconciliations, and report financial information. This role will report to the Controller and is located in our Hillside, NJ office.
In this role, you will manage and oversee our accounts payable process and receivable balances. This includes oversight of our cash receipt process and general ledger transactions to ensure correct posting. You will prepare weekly cash activity reports and support our cash forecast process. You will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis and management reports to be presented to key team members. You will also interface with external auditors to respond to their information and documentation requests. You will also manage an Accounting team to ensure all tasks are performed correctly, according to GAAP and company policy.
Ideal candidates will possess a CPA and have worked in a similar role for a minimum of 8 years, experience in a non-profit environment in preferred. You must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in a collaborative and deadline-oriented workplace. The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi‐task while remaining detail oriented and organized is essential for success. You must possess advanced Excel skills, including familiarity with creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP to prepare and analyze financials statements and reports and knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to financial accounting is required.
