The Philadelphia Unemployment Project is hiring a full-time unemployed organizer to work with laid off Philadelphians and help build our Unemployed Organizing Committee. PUP is a long-time unemployed organization and has been focusing on issues with unemployment compensation for the unemployed.
We are also organizing around preventing foreclosures and evictions and maintaining benefits enacted with the CARES Act. The organizer will also work with our reverse commute program for inner city workers, Commuter Options.
Commitment to social and economic justice, background in community or social service work for 2 years or more are required. BA preferred but not required. Good writing and verbal skills are necessary. People of color, women and bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Salary commensurate with experience.
