Jobs-Plus Career Pathways Manager-East Harlem

 

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Career Pathways Manager is a key member of the Jobs-Plus East Harlem team, overseeing member assessment and engagement strategies leading to the attainment of educational, employment, retention, and advancement outcomes in a career pathway.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Supervising three staff members: two Career Advancement Coaches and one Financial Counselor;
  • Overseeing ongoing assessment of member progress including the administering of evaluation tools and other necessary assessments by direct reports;
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of innovative strategies and opportunities to engage members in employment readiness, educational access, financial counseling, job retention, and career advancement activities;
  • Co-developing curricula (lesson plans, materials, handouts, exercises, etc) to contextualize members’ learning experience in selected sectors in partnership with the Employment Services team and sector employer partners;
  • Maintaining regular communication with all relevant staff on member progress and participate in case conferencing with individual participants as needed;
  • Building on existing and establishing new partnerships with community based organizations (CBOs) and educational institutions;
  • Coordinating educational and career field trips as appropriate;
  • Ensuring the integrity of data entered in the program database and client case files;
  • Analyzing data to inform and make recommendations to leadership on programmatic decisions; and
  • Assisting with additional projects as requested by the Assistant Director and Urban Upbound

 

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in workforce development, human services, higher education, or related fields
  • Strong ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships
  • Strong project management skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Internet Research, and social media
  • Outcomes-driven, strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform programmatic decisions
  • Highly motivated, with proven capacity to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in high-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Flexible, with availability to work a weeknight and occasional Saturdays
  • Passion for social justice
