We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Pivot team. This position will support the CFO

with the day‐to‐day, monthly, and year‐end operations. This position will be responsible for the

integrity and timely reporting of the internal and external financial statements of the organization.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting skills, experience in both non‐profit accounting, and is a selfstarter.

They will also have solid communication, critical thinking, and problem‐solving skills.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the integrity of the general ledgers for two organizations,

one for‐profit, one non‐profit (Pivot is a non‐profit with a for‐profit subsidiary). This includes quality

control of the supporting documentation, and timely internal and external reporting. Assists CFO in all

aspects of accounting management, process documentation and improvement, project accounting, and

reporting to non‐profit funders. Specific responsibilities include:

 Responsible for the overview of the financial record‐keeping and reporting for both

organizations, meeting all internal and external deadlines.

 Conducts ongoing assessment of internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk

areas, and makes recommendations for process improvements.

 Performs monthly balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement analysis for both


 Responsible for intercompany entries and adherence to the intercompany service agreement.

 Responsible for the preparation of backup schedules, documentation preparation, and research

for tax returns and annual external audit.

 Ensures accurate coding of revenues and expenses for cost center/project P&Ls.

 Responsible for all journal entries and cost allocations.

 Works in collaboration with Staff Accountant, providing ongoing training and mentorship.

 Answer staff questions and provide ad hoc data and analysis as needed.

 Other duties as required.

Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible accounting experience; minimum 2 years in nonprofit


 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA a plus.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting for Non‐Profits. Project accounting experience


 Strong knowledge of accounting systems and software – Advanced Excel required, Quick Books a

strong plus, adept at other office software applications.

 Hands‐on experience in all aspects of account reconciliations, internal management reporting,

budget review and reporting.

 Strong commitment to professional excellence with ability to self‐manage and work independently,

but also collaboratively.

 Strong critical thinking and problem‐solving abilities, along with solid oral and written

communication skills.

 Leadership skills – ability to help set team goals and accomplish targets.

 Ability to interact positively and effectively with colleagues, managers, and individuals at all levels of

the organization.
