AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School is an 11-school network of charter schools providing high-quality early learning instruction for students ages 3-5 in Washington, DC. We are seeking an organized, customer-focused School Operations Coordinator to join our AppleTree@ Rocketship Legacy team.


The AppleTree@ School Operations Coordinator (OC) plays an integral and centralized role in coordinating the daily operations and administrative tasks of the AppleTree@ school. Under the supervision of the school principal, and in collaboration with the Partner School’s administrative team the OC provides overall operations support for the AppleTree@ school campus. The OC leads front office activities, ensures the efficient operation of the school meals program, maintains student records, and provides overall operations support for the campus. The OC also supports the enrollment process and the annual enrollment audit. This role reports to the building principal.


Duties and Responsibilities

Daily School Operations

  • Manages the front office, following all established policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the school
  • Manages all aspects of the school meals program
  • Ensures all classrooms are stocked with necessary supplies and PPE by following AppleTree purchasing procedures
  • Maintains paper and electronic files in accordance with local laws and regulations
  • Monitors and reports daily attendance in PowerSchool
  • Ensures proper documentation is provided for all student medications


Relationship Management w/Partner School

  • Serves as a critical operations liaison between AppleTree and the Partner School, ensuring continuity of operations of the AppleTree program and maintaining a positive Partner School relationship
  • Attends regular meetings with Partner School to support collaborative operations planning
  • Actively builds and maintains relationships with Partner School staff

 

Enrollment Support

  • Manages campus enrollment by tracking and responding to enrollment inquiries, monitoring the enrollment waitlist, and assisting families with the enrollment process
  • Collects and processes application and enrollment materials in accordance with enrollment standards and practices defined by the Director of Operations and the Director of Family Engagement
  • Creates and maintains accurate student enrollment files, ensuring 100% accuracy of residency documents and student information to support the annual enrollment audit
  • Regularly participate in student recruitment and parent engagement activities to build meaningful relationships with students and families in support of AppleTree’s vision and mission (approximately 15-20 hours per week)

  • Fulfills the standards of professionalism including appropriate dress, attendance, and timeliness

 

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience supporting school enrollment processes preferably within DC
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an administrative role preferably in a school setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills that support effective, positive interactions with AppleTree and @school staff, students, parents, and community members
  • Knowledge of modern business practices and procedures
  • Self-starting and strong detail orientation
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment
  • Able to work effectively independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, G Suite, Excel, Zoom, and online learning platforms
  • Highly organized, task-oriented, and skilled at maintaining pristine records and record-keeping systems
