FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT • Prepare accurate and timely billings and financial reports for all funding sources • Ensure that all financial requirements mandated by funders are reflected in agency policies and procedures and are implemented correctly (Including Cost Allocation Plan) • Assist in preparation of grant applications, specifically on financial/budgeting components • Seek additional grant opportunities that can support Daya’s mission • Manage internal reporting measures to ensure compliance with financial requirements outlined in all grant contracts awarded • Maintain accurate budgets for the current year and provide Board/ED and funders with reports required to monitor budget status Daya Inc. Job Opening: Director of Finance and Compliance 2 • Build and maintain budgets with ED and Board Treasurer that reflect strategic plans and initiatives • With the Board Treasurer, prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and fund balances • With the Board Treasurer, coordinate internal or external audits and other grant reviews when required by the Board of Directors and funders • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all accounting processes, data, and reporting • Keep the ED informed of the financial position of the agency at all times ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHT • Oversee the Office Manager including oversight of monthly financial reconciliations • Approve staff financial requests including travel, mileage, and reimbursements • Create financial requests to be approved by the Board Treasurer for all agency expenses • Work with the Board Treasurer to ensure that all tax-reporting requirements are met • Oversee the Office Manager in entry and timely disbursement of payables, receivables, disbursements, receipts, statements and other general accounting information in accounting database, verifying conformity in balances • Prepare bank deposits and maintain balances within agency guidelines. HUMAN RESOURCES & PROGRAM COMPLIANCE • Oversee accurate preparation of payroll for all employees bi-weekly and at other times as required by law to include accurate accounting of employee benefits, payroll deductions, timely computation and payment of payroll taxes and retirement plan deposits • Provide oversight for preparation, review, and submission of W2’s and 1099’s • Oversee on-boarding activities, and training of staff as required by agency and grant policies • Monitor requests for verification of employment, workman compensation claims and unemployment benefits • Maintain agency HR files, board files, and financial records as required by agency, grant policies, and best practices • Approve time off requests as required by agency and grant policies Daya Inc. Job Opening: Director of Finance and Compliance 3 • Approve timesheets for all staff reflecting appropriate funding source payment distribution DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT • Oversee donor software and manage Office Manager in entry and stewardship • Create reports from donor software as needed for fundraising and development as needed • Assist the Director of Outreach in overseeing recruiting strategies for volunteers and tracking of pro bono/in kind volunteer hours • Attend and promote outreach/fundraising events
