Head Nursery School Teacher

Larchmont Temple Nursery School is looking for a Head Preschool Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Larchmont Temple Nursery School is a Play-based Nursery school that draws inspirations from Reggio Emilia and Bank Street College approaches. Teachers plan emergent curriculum based on interests of the children and curriculum is carried out through project-based learning.

LTNS believes children are curious and filled with ideas and theories. They are capable of playing a role in their own learning and their interests drive the classroom curriculum. It is important that our teachers carefully plan activities and explorations that will stimulate the children’s curiosity and love for learning.

This position requires knowledge and skill in working with children ages 2-5, flexibility and ability to differentiate for a variety of learning styles and needs as well as a passion for working with children, colleagues and families. The hours are 8:30-12:00, with the option to stay until 2:00.

Minimum Qualification/Requirements:

– Bachelor's Degree or NYS Certification or Master's Degree in education

– Experience working with young children

– An understanding of the many “languages” of expression used in early childhood classrooms

– Warm and nurturing, with the ability to meet the social-emotional needs of young children

– Strong writing and communication skills

– Demonstrate knowledge of child development and the ability to plan and implement age-appropriate, child-centered curriculum

– Hardworking and eager to work collaboratively with assistant teachers and colleagues
