The Organization:

City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts is seeking an energetic and creative Executive Director to support the mission and growth of the organization.

For over thirty-six years, the nonprofit has provided youth living in the most economically distressed, diverse neighborhoods of Southern California with equal access to Arts education. Our high-quality, curriculum-based Arts programs are provided in-school and after-school in Photography, Dance, Theater Arts, Shakespeare, and Music.

Founders Sherry and Bob Jason, with both Arts and Juvenile Defense backgrounds, created City Hearts to address the needs of L.A. County’s most at-risk children, recognizing that the Arts can be a very powerful tool in enhancing students’ self-esteem, creativity, social skills and academic engagement.

City Hearts inspires a love of the Arts, helping children discover and celebrate their unique skills. Our innovative programming in various Arts disciplines enables them to be confident, imaginative, and caring participants in their community.

The Opportunity:

The new Executive Director will help guide City Hearts into its next chapter of service to our community’s youth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Director who is dedicated and passionate about empowering children through education and the Arts, and who is prepared to take on new and exciting challenges.

Though initially working in partnership with Founder and President Sherry Jason, the Executive Director will move into the leading role of the organization, as Sherry Jason steps back into a legacy role.
