Position Summary 

This position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for oversight and management of the facility owned by the Food Bank. This oversight includes hiring required maintenance personnel for mechanical, HVAC, and other systems; grounds maintenance; and the development of landscaping in alignment with our strategy to make food ubiquitously available via the Food Bank. We plan to create an all edible plantscape. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking data and analytics regarding the overall operation of both the facility and operations in conjunction with the Director of Operations. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Reports and metrics 
  • Inventory management  
  • Throughput analysis 
  • Transition to MSFT 
  • Technology analysis & security 

 

Tasks: 

  • Support data collection for the agency, including oversight of data entry volunteers 
  • Support daily operational needs, including coordination of staff & program schedules, office administration 
  • Ensure accurate & timely reporting 
  • Other duties as assigned  
  • Work with the ED to ensure policies & procedures (including the staff handbook, food distribution, and volunteer policies) are kept relevant, updated, & accessible to all staff 
  • Drive a culture of positive communication for RVFB staff & volunteers by organizing all staff events & facilitating opportunities for constructive feedback  
  • Orient new hires to office procedures 

 

Skills 

  • Project management or coordination skills required 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-faceted demands, deadlines, and changing priorities. 
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, and highly organized. 
  • Professional customer service skills: listening, empathy, open-mindedness, and de-escalation skills. 
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills demonstrating clarity and on-target messaging for a variety of audiences. 
  • High level of computer literacy - Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), some experience with database software preferred.
