National Health Service Corps Pipeline Readiness Initiative Assistant Project Coordinator & Specialist (APCS)

The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is adding to its team! ACU is a fast-growing organization filled with mission-driven people committed to improving the health of America’s underserved populations and supporting the clinicians serving these populations. We’re looking for someone equally committed to that cause who can help support ACU’s National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Pipeline Readiness Initiative.  The Assistant PCS will assist in developing and implementing educational products and materials to prepare NHSC participants in their placement sites and benefit the sites by increasing quality of care, care delivery, and retention rates.  These products will strengthen overall resiliency, resourcefulness, and well-being of NHSC participants while simultaneously providing practical tools to help them understand their community’s health care delivery system as well as social needs and strengths.  

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in time management, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. The candidate will have experience in meeting facilitation, adult learning principles and modalities, and workforce matters such as clinician resiliency, pipeline development, and community partnerships to address social determinants of health. The candidate Will have expertise in drafting communications including emails and newsletters.  The ACU offices are located in Washington..

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in Development of Educational Products and Materials:

• Assist in researching and identifying credible literature and resources to inform the development of educational materials for the delivery of high-quality multidisciplinary care for underserved populations including addressing health disparities, engaging in community partnerships, supporting provider resiliency

• Coordinate ACU members and others in its network to identify examples of real-life scenarios in working with underserved populations and organizational and payment structures to support more effective delivery of care

• Engage subject matter experts to develop resources on topics such as health disparities, social determinants of health, value-based payment models, and provider resiliency

• Assist in the development of supporting documents and training aids in a variety of formats including, but not limited to infographics, learning vignettes, resource compendiums, PowerPoint presentations, and more  

Support Implementation of Tools/Tactics:

• Build and maintain a communications listserv of program participants 

• Provide support for virtual events including speaker preparation, webinar logistics, attendance tracking, and collection of evaluation data 

• Coordinate NHSC mentor and mentee connections 

• Upload content to online resource libraries and track utilization of online tools and resources

• Manage NHSC mentor and mentee networking platforms

• Other Projects as Needed

Qualifications for Position

• BS degree preferred – Experience may be substituted for a degree.

• At least 2 years of experience providing support for virtual and online trainings

• Demonstrated understanding of the unique issues in delivering health care to underserved populations and strategies to support provider resiliency preferred

• Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Proficiency with G-Suite programs

• Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills

• Self-directed

• Creative problem-solving skills

Pay: Annual salary range $57,500 - $63,500

This is a one-year grant-funded position with the opportunity for four additional years.
