Who we are looking for:

ASCO is in search of a Program Associate, Educational Meetings to join our Education, Science and Professional Development (ESPD) department. The selected candidate will provide program and administrative support to ASCO Meeting committees in the planning, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and facilitation of the Annual Meeting and the ASCO Plenary Series.

What you will do:

  • Provide first-tier customer service support for Annual Meeting and Plenary Series by overseeing phone and e-mail accounts
  • Support Plenary Series committees in the development of planning calls, online abstract grading, committee materials, and presentation files
  • Collaborate with committee members and Annual Meeting colleagues on all aspects of the Annual Meeting Education and Scientific Program Committees’ planning processes, including coordination of committee meetings, scheduling and supporting planning conference calls, and preparing correspondence and invitations
  • Provide support for databases, websites, meeting applications, and online tools in a timely manner
  • Assist with the development of program planning and onsite meeting goals, agendas, and logistics and provide onsite staff support in Faculty and Presenter Registration office and Poster Desk at Annual Meeting and other meetings as requested

What you will need to bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training or related work experience
  • 1-2 years of related administrative support experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Openness to embracing and learning new technology
  • Enthusiasm, good judgment, and excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)
  • Strong customer service skills in a professional setting
  • Self-managed with proven skills to use initiative, time management, and organizational skills to prioritize work to deliver results with attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and presence including the ability to handle confidential information
