    Description

    The Youth and Family Therapist is an experienced mental health clinician who is responsible for providing clinical counseling services to youth and families. This position provides clinical care and services including mental health assessments, short and long-term therapy, case management, and crisis intervention. Youth and Family Therapists are key members of the behavioral health team and are crucial in providing support to our community.

    Location & Schedule

    • Issaquah
    • Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday 930am-6pm

    Essential Duties

    Clinical Services

    • Provide evidence based and culturally responsive therapeutic interventions and services to youth and their families.
    • Administer mental health assessments, provide individual, family and group therapy sessions.
    • Provide crisis interventions to clients, as needed.
    • Maintain direct service hours at 60% of total weekly work hours.
    • Diagnoses mental health conditions in accordance with the most recently published DSM, as needed.
    • Provide clinical groups focused on a variety of topics.

    Administrative

    • Attend weekly/bi-weekly individual meetings with supervisor to review cases.
    • Participate in staff case consultations and department meetings.
    • Maintain awareness of other Friends of Youth departments and internal resources.
    • Improve knowledge about current best practices for various diagnoses and mental health concerns through research.
    • Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, COA, Medicaid and King County requirements.
    • Maintain knowledge and understanding of school district policies related to crisis intervention, fire drills, etc.
    • Attend school meetings (i.e., student of concern) as necessary.

    Case Management and Outreach

    • Provide case consultation, linkage to, advocacy, and coordination of services with collateral contacts for assigned clients.
    • Assist in outreach to communities, as needed.
    • Develops and maintains working knowledge of community resources.
    • Maintain positive relations with community referral sources.

    We Require:

    • Master’s Degree in a human service field.
    • Licensed with the State of Washington as an LICSW/LSWAIC, LMHC/A or LMFT/A.
    • Minimum of 1 year working with children, youth, and/or families.
    • Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check, including fingerprints.
    • Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
    • Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid Washington State driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (no exemption or waivers).
