Managing Director, Manchester NH
Reports to: Skills Chief Program Officer
Supervision: Education Manager, Community Services Manager, Office Manager
We seek a Managing Director who has a strong track-record of program and team leadership, who will enable IINE to strengthen our existing programs, launch successful new programs to better serve the needs Manchester’s immigrant communities, and ensure the financial sustainability of those programs and services. You will be successful in this role if you can triage new opportunities, collaborate effectively with members of the central office team, predict and solve problems, build and maintain community partnerships, and can help position the Manchester site for growth and fiscal health.
As Managing Director, you will utilize data-driven and outcome-focused management to guide refugee resettlement, employment, education, and community services programs at the site level. You will also provide site leadership, including staff recruitment and supervision, the management of program expenses, program monitoring and evaluation, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. You will ensure strong communication and coordination with central office leaders including the Chief Program Officer, Chief Institutional Advancement Officer, Director of HR and Operations, the finance team, and the Director of Development and Communication.
Reporting to the Chief Program Officer and supervising Manchester management–level staff including the Education Manager, Community Services Programs Manager, and Office Manager, you’ll have a unique opportunity build a track record of success, foster strong community partnerships , leverage resources to achieve challenging goals, and foster a supportive and energizing working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all programs, including policy setting for program activities program reporting, and supporting grant and contract development for new programs.
- Assess and evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes to ensure responsiveness to client needs. Work with program staff to implement program modifications to reflect contractual regulations, evolving client needs, and IINE’s mission and goals.
- Monitor and contribute to required documentation, data collection, and reporting for all contracts/programs and ensure that programs comply with IINE goals and contractual guidelines. Lead site in
- Lead IINE’s translation and interpreting business, Pinpoint, with an emphasis on achieving revenue targets; supervise and support program coordinator and interpreting staff, and maintain regular communication with IINE’s business partner in Rhode Island
- Partner with the Chief Program Officer and Chief Institutional Advancement Office to develop new programming in the areas of education, employment, skills training, community services, and citizenship that are financially sustainable.
- Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with community-based and student-serving organizations in New Hampshire.
- Serve on IINE Program Leadership team and help develop, implement and maintain short- and long-term site plans and objectives within scope of Institute-wide policies and goals.
FINANCE & OPERATIONS
- Directly supervise site Office Manager and support on-site operations and the administration of all site services.
- Manage program expenses across all contracts and grants, including decisions on site expense allocations and spending of program funds within annual site budget. Ensure accuracy and accountability in distribution of client expenses.
- Help draft annual site budget, including salary allocations, in concert with the Finance Department, Chief Program Officer, and Chief Institutional Advancement Officer.
- Recruit, hire, and orient new staff at the New Hampshire site; manage employee exits as required.
- Oversee screening and management of program interns and volunteers.
- Supervise and evaluate direct reports, serve as on-site support to New Hampshire based staff who report to central office leaders.
- Provide professional development opportunities that align with staff and program needs, contractual regulations, and emerging trends in our sector and communities.
FUNDRAISING & COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Support the cross-site Intern and Volunteer Program Manager to steward and grow a robust volunteer and internship program; identify and help to implement appropriate volunteer opportunities at the site level
- Identify client and program stories that can be highlighted in the IINE’s communications materials
- Maintain relationships with community leaders, funders, employer partners, and stakeholders that may have direct impact on programming, clients, and services, collaborating and communicating regularly with IINE Development, Institutional Advancement and Marketing staff.
- Manage a small donor portfolio and support funder stewardship, as assigned.
- Palpable passion for the mission of IINE and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients.
- 5+ years relevant professional experience, preferably managing social and community-based programs, departments or organizations; specific experience in developing and managing successful adult education and/or workforce development programming preferred; demonstrated track-record of public contract management.
